Biography
Jon Dunham is an award winning filmmaker with a passion for Italy and endurance sports. Jon’s first feature length documentary Spirit of the Marathon premiered at the 2007 Chicago International Film Festival where it won the coveted Audience Award. It was subsequently released in more than 400 cinemas across the United States, where it grossed over $1 Million in two days on its way to becoming one of the year’s highest earning theatrically released documentaries. The critically acclaimed film, which has become a cult classic among runners, was followed by Spirit of the Marathon II filmed in Rome and released in 2013.
BOSTON narrated by Academy Award winner Matt Damon and released worldwide by Lionsgate is Jon’s third feature film. The documentary tells the story of the famed Boston Marathon and the year following the 2013 bombings. Premiering in 2017, the production marks the first time in the legendary race’s history that the complete story has been told in a feature-length film. As a cinematographer, Jon has lensed a wide range of documentaries and has traveled extensively filming on every continent. He has lived in Italy since 2011 and has a son, Roger Marcello, born in Napoli in 2017.
