Hi, I’m Liza Mosquito deGuia — most people call me Skeeter.
I’m a filmmaker, storyteller, and the founder of food. curated., a James Beard Award–winning, five-time nominated documentary series that has been celebrating food culture for over 15 years. Through a cinematic and deeply human approach, my work shines a light on the chefs, artisans, and small food businesses who shape our communities — often quietly, always with care. I’m driven by a deep respect for craft and the belief that food is one of the most powerful ways we connect to culture, heritage, and one another.
Over the years, food. curated. has grown into a trusted platform across digital, television, and social media, resonating with food lovers, industry leaders, and public-media audiences alike. My work amplifies underrepresented voices, supports small businesses, and preserves stories that might otherwise go untold — creating space for meaningful dialogue around food, identity, and community.
