Biography

Gary Bryman’s passion lies in producing award-winning and innovative content for leading studios and brands including, Disney, Universal, Sony, Paramount, Chrysler, Mastercard, Reebok, Kia, Target, Honda, Western Union, HBO, Showtime, YouTube, Facebook and Netflix.

A graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Gary has executive produced Sony’s Boogeyman and produced Boogeyman 2, The Lather Effect, and The Frankenstein Theory.  As Head of Production for Doug Liman’s Hypnotic (The OC, The Bourne Identity) he produced the iconic Terry Tate: Office Linebacker campaign which premiered during Super Bowl XXXVII and went on to win a Gold Lion at Cannes.

At Disney, Gary launched the studios live-action short from content division, developing creative campaigns across emerging platforms.  He also served as Vice Chair of the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council and on its National Board of Direcors.

Films

Boogeyman (2003)

Role: Producer

Boogeyman is a supernatural horror film where a man named Tim must confront his childhood trauma of witnessing his father’s death at the hands of the boogeyman. Years later, after his mother’s death, Tim returns to his family home and must face the same creature he believed he’d escaped. The film, starring Barry Watson as Tim and Lucy Lawless as his mother, involves Tim reliving his past and dealing with his fear of the supernatural entity that haunts the house.

Boogeyman 2 (2007)

In an attempt to cure her phobia of the boogeyman, a young woman checks herself into a facility but realises that she has inadvertently trapped herself with her own greatest fear.

The Lather Effect (2007)

Role: Producer

The Lather Effect showcases a comedic drama about a group of high-school friends in their mid-30s who reunite for a nostalgic 80s party at one of their childhood homes. The morning after, they are hungover and dealing with the mess, prompting a decision to extend their visit to clean up and reminisce, which leads to revealing old secrets and unresolved relationships. The film uses an 80s-themed soundtrack and aesthetic to highlight the contrasts between their carefree teenage years and their present-day lives

Terry Tate Office Linebacker (2003)

Role: Producer

Terry Tate: Office Linebacker is a series of short comedy films and commercials about a retired NFL linebacker who is hired by a corporation to enforce office policies through “bone-crushing tackles”. The character, played by Lester Speight, serves as a comedic “enforcer” who physically tackles employees for infractions like taking long breaks, making personal calls, or using company supplies for personal use. The series originated as a short film before becoming a popular series of Reebok commercials that aired during the Super Bowl.

George Lucas In Love (2000)

Role: Producer

George Lucas in Love is a 1999 American parodical short film directed by Joe Nussbaum. A parody of Shakespeare in Love, it depicts a young George Lucas and his real-life inspirations behind the characters and plot of Star Wars. Upon its release, the film was widely passed around Hollywood offices and served as Nussbaum’s break into the film industry.
