Biography

Hello! My name is Colin Emery! I am a filmmaker from Cincinnati, Ohio.  I believe films have the power to change the world.  They are the most accessible art form, often facilitating a glimpse into someone else’s mind or home.  I try to view the world through the eyes of everyone I meet and this is exactly what I aim to do with the films I help create.  Human connection is an incredible gift and I am happy to show the world who their neighbors are.

Of Us (2024)

Role: Independent Filmmaker

Two lovers who wrestle with fading memories at the edge of their unraveling bond are torn between the fragments of their shared past and the quiet surrender of letting go.

Of Us is a film that is a poignant exploration of love, memory, and the threads that bind us. It dives into the impact of Alzheimer’s, capturing how the slow erosion of memory reshapes love and tests the bonds of a relationship. As storytellers, we believe in creating narratives that resonate deeply, not because they’re grand or extraordinary, but because they are raw and profoundly human.
This film dares to explore the in-between — the spaces of heartbreak and hope, of connection and loss. By exploring the fragility of memory and its effects on love, we aim to start meaningful conversations about the emotional toll memory loss and dementia take on relationships and old memories. This film is a labor of love, born from our unwavering belief in the power of storytelling to inspire, uplift, and provoke change.

Welcome In (2025)

Role: Independent Filmmaker

A retail worker who avoids their own reflection searches for any means of connection, only to find just that in a suspected shoplifter.

Welcome In is a look into work culture and identity. It is a narrative told without showing the main character’s face. This “Greeter” goes about his day at work, trying and failing to find any semblance of connection. That is until he happens upon a suspected shoplifter. What ensues is a moral dilemma that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

This project partnered with Habitat for Humanity in support of local businesses and companies that give back. It’s meant for the little guy, someone everybody can relate to. It connects this message with one of self-image and people pleasing. The greeter is a character living for others, rarely himself. This film seeks to show the negative effects of ignored self reflection.
