Caretakers

A film by Rita Balogh

Caretakers is an character-driven feature documentary that tells the story of two middle-aged Hungarian women who navigate the hidden struggles of undocumented caregiving in Germany and the U.S. Through intimate fly-on-the-wall scenes, the film reveals the hidden labor that keeps Western households running, the emotional cost of constant migration, and the fragile hopes they carry for family, stability, and a place to call home.
