Eastern Script - behind-the-scenes research for media projects

All the scripted television you binge on — police procedurals, medical dramas, sitcoms –  have gone through what is called the “script clearance” process.  Researchers read the scripts and prepare lists of all the possibly problematic story elements which the lawyers then ponder.  Some of these script clearance companies also research the project’s title to make sure that it, too, is “clear” and safe from lawsuits when it hits the screen.

Anne Marie Murphy founded Eastern Script almost 30 years ago right here in Massachusetts.  The company provides both script clearance and title search reports.  Eastern Script provides these services to productions across North America and elsewhere; last year they added clients in Chile and New Zealand to their fold.
