Biography

I like paintings, music, literature and most of all, movies :o. I also enjoy beauty, color, abstraction and philosophy, deconstruction, and sincerity. I have an intrinsic affinity toward the unhinged, the off kilter, the absurd, and chaos in its many forms.

Sidebar, love is the most interesting (read beautiful) concept of all and there will never be enough romance movies <3.

Juan is a narrative film director, with additional experience in music videos and commercials. Juan established himself in the world of fine arts as the marketing head at Cultured Magazine, a leading global publication covering contemporary artwork and artists. At Cultured, he learned a great deal about the promotion and distribution of fine art, and the publication industry itself. His other professional experiences range from pizza delivery driver to results analyst for Google, and everything in between. Juan has spent over a decade honing his filmmaking practice in various major cities including Miami, Bogota, Los Angeles, and Boston. His experimental short film, A Lossless Divinity, premiered as part of Art Basel Miami in 2017. Outside of directing, Juan studies the digital aspects of filmmaking including VFX, 3D design, animation, and color science. He is currently an MFA candidate in Film and Media Arts at Emerson College. Juan’s latest film Lotto Money is set to begin its festival run soon.
