Biography
JoAnna founded and serves as the Director of the Office of New Ventures at Partners Health Care System, where she has undertaken a new series of programmatic initiatives designed to extend Partners’ mission beyond professional education to communicate to the general public breakthroughs in scientific research and in the medical and biological sciences.
The Office’s first projects are Wired to Win: Surviving the Tour de France, an award-winning large large format film and educational project on neuroscience; and Science and Society: Closing the Gap, an international conference on science policy and communications. Before joining Partners, JoAnna created and oversaw production of Out of the Past, an award-winning public television series on archaeology and directed Telling the Story: The Media, the Public and American History. She has been a long-standing member of the public television community in the United States and has held positions with WNET in New York, WGBH in Boston and WQED in Pittsburgh.
