Biography

Hannah Sperling is a rising senior at NYU, studying Film and TV. Growing up in Los Angeles, she fell in love with filmmaking through the chaotic, low-budget videos she made with her younger siblings. As she grew older, she became increasingly conscious of the pressures girls face regarding their bodies and sexuality – an awareness that continues to shape her storytelling. Starting as an (arguably too eager) intern at Saturday Night Live, Bleecker Street, Peacock, Maven Screen Media, and American High, Hannah has thrown herself into the entertainment industry from every angle. She’s explored development, production, and distribution – basically, anything that lets her talk about movies all day. She’s passionate about storytelling, addicted to Letterboxd, and has definitely carried one too many coffees while wearing impractical shoes. Currently, she is studying abroad in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and National Film and Television School, further honing her craft. Her last short film, Meek, was featured in Variety, Gold Derby, and Yahoo Entertainment and premiered at the Montclair Film Festival.
