Biography
A Massachusetts native, I studied film at Emerson College and moved to LA to work on motion graphics for shows like American Idol, TMZ, and So You Think You Can Dance. In 2011, I left the film industry to travel and teach ESL in South Korea. An ultimate frisbee injury landed me in the ER, where a $15 X-ray turned me into an ardent single-payer supporter. Moving back to Massachusetts, I became more politically active during Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign, and would later run for town meeting rep. I lost my first race by 13 votes, then ran again the next year and won, because no one else collected signatures.
This project is where my love of fast, fun, filmmaking meets my obsession with politics. In the same way The Big Short demystified the 2008 financial crisis, I want Shadows on the Hill to illuminate Beacon Hill’s dysfunction—making it understandable and fun to learn about.
