FC Academy provides classes for students of all ages who want to flex their creative muscles and learn the art of filmmaking. We offer both in-person and virtual classes!

All final projects are eligible for submission into the Boston International Kids Film Festival and viewed on the big screen in front of family and friends!

FC Academy Class Schedule- Winter 2021
Virtual Class Sessions:
Narrative Filmmaking: Students will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, character development, improvisation, and camera skills. They will write, shoot, and edit a film in a genre of their choosing.
*For this class, the students will need a videocamera or smartphone and basic editing software such as iMovie*
- Stop-Motion Animation: Students will learn the principles of Animation and produce a short film using objects found around the house
*This course requires a touch screen device with access to the free app Stop Motion Studio (available for iPods, iPhones, iPads, Androids, etc).

In-person Class Sessions:
- Filmmaking: Students will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, character development, improvisation, and camera skills – all in a fun, collaborative and exciting environment. Together, the group will write, shoot, and edit a film in a genre of their choosing. Students will also learn to edit their films using professional edit software like Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Documentary Filmmaking: Students will learn and put into practice all phases of documentary filmmaking including topic research, interview conduction, non-scripted field filmmaking, and non-fiction editing techniques.
