The Uncondemned

A film by Michele Mitchell

In 1919, “rape” was listed by the international community as a “crime of war.” Almost 80 years later, it was finally prosecuted. This is the story of the women and men who came together for the first international tribunals since Nuremberg. They battled politics, prejudice and, often, each other in courtrooms beyond the reach of cameras but within the reach of history. This is also the story of rape as an ongoing tactic of war. Just hours from the tribunals, a new horror was beginning.
