Birth is an experience that each of us have in common. We all arrived here, perhaps disoriented or maybe even frightened. Did these early moments of life have any impact on who we are today? The Heart of Touch is an emerging documentary film that explores the evidence on how to best welcome new babies. Midwife, Angie Chisholm highlights a practice called skin-to-skin (S2S) care which according to over 40 years of evidence should be the standard of care for every newborn. Yet the World Health Organization reports only 50% of U.S. babies receive any S2S care at all.
