Considering the pursuit of film for college and don’t know where to start? Our 6-week portfolio course is customized to cater to all prerequisites for art programs in colleges/universities. During this class students will establish their own artistic approach, collaborate with other enthusiastic students, and craft their own application portfolios. The curriculum also encompasses filmmaking elements such as story development, sound/audio techniques and imagery manipulation all through the creation of personal content.

Students will meet in-person every Saturday from March 2nd-April 13th (9AM-11AM) to work on a new technique which they will then follow up with our instructors via Zoom during a chosen week day for one on one check ins. The course schedule will follow:

Week One: Developing an artist statement and a self portrait using photography and mixed media.

Week Two: Building an environment using sound and still image only using Adobe Premiere Pro

Week Three: Animation Techniques: Making a piece to work in stop motion or analog animation into your portfolio using Stop motion studio and art materials.

Week Four: Still Photography workshop to diversify your film portfolio

Week Five and Six: Develop a short biographical vignette using video and Adobe Premiere so college admissions can get an idea of “who you are” as a creative and filmmaker.
