FC Academy teaches week-long programming during the summer months to students ages 9-15 and during that time they create their own short films from start to finish.

To support and showcase the wonderful work made by our students we invite you to join us as we screen the final films on the big screen!!

There will be food trucks, musical entertainment, and most importantly movies! Just bring your blankets and chairs for a perfect evening for the whole family to enjoy!

In this immersive experience, aspiring filmmakers aged 12-17 will have the unique opportunity to capture the electrifying energy of live music at the Lynn Music Festival and turn it into captivating content to be shared on social media platforms. This bootcamp is free of charge, but space is limited, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this exhilarating filmmaking experience!

Hands-On Experience: Get ready to dive into the heart of filmmaking as you learn essential techniques for shooting, editing, and storytelling under the guidance of experienced mentors.
 
Live Music Excitement: Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Lynn Music Festival as you capture dynamic performances by talented musicians from various genres.

We’re excited to announce that we will be hosting a drive-in at the Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus, MA! We will be screening student-made films from our FC Academy summer filmmaking program. Please come and join us for a night out with dinner and a movie!

Kowloon has created a very large area behind their building that is complete with tables, chairs, and spaces for your own chairs and set up. Each spot also has plenty of space to socially distance from one another. Come early and order dinner to be delivered to your table or just enjoy the films from the comfort of your car!

*Each table is allowed a max of 6 people and when not at the table please wear mask. There are sanitation stations and bathrooms available as well.*

The screenings will begin around 8:15pm after the sun begins to set.

Please join FC Academy and the creators of the Boston International Kids Film Festival, in partnership with MMTV, in a filmmaking class over February school vacation week!
In this class, students will be flexing their creative muscles and making a film in a fun and collaborative environment. Students will learn skills in storyboarding, scriptwriting, camera skills and editing. All camera equipment will be provided as the group will write, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing on the professional editing software, Adobe Premiere.

All final projects will be eligible for submission into a special screening of the Boston International Kids
Film Festival in June 2018.

The creators of the Boston International Kids Film Festival (BIKFF) are thrilled to introduce the latest in our filmmaking festival classes for middle school students! Spend the day on the campus of Tufts University while you learn to write, direct, shoot, and edit short films in one non-stop day of filmmaking!

Hosted by Tufts University. Exact location on the Medford campus TBD. Ages 10 and up!

Films made at this class will be eligible to be screened at BIKFF 2018 in November. Every student who takes this class also receives a full festival pass in November.

Join the Boston International Kids Film Festival on February 1, 2018 from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at the Arlington Capitol Theatre for an entertaining night of the ‘best of’ short films from BIKFF 2017 plus a selection of our student films from the Summer and Fall 2017 film camps.

We will screen two of our favorite BIKFF short films and student films from Lexington, Melrose, Newburyport, and Andover! A fun night featuring local creative talent of all ages! Total running time is 80 minutes.

FC Academy Student Filmmakers do not need to purchase tickets.

Location: Burlington Recreation Center, Burlington, MA    |       Date: Monday, August 21 – Friday, August 25

In this class, students will bring creativity to life in a fun, collaborative and exciting environment. They will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, improvisation and camera skills. Students who have previously participated in our program will be able to expand on their filmmaking skills. Together they will write, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing and edit their project together using the professional editing software Adobe Premiere.

Location: Newburyport Recreation Center, Newburyport MA    |       Date: Monday, August 21 – Friday, August 25

In this class, students will bring creativity to life in a fun, collaborative and exciting environment. They will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, improvisation and camera skills. Students who have previously participated in our program will be able to expand on their filmmaking skills. Together they will write, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing and edit their project together using the professional editing software Adobe Premiere.

Location: North Andover Recreation Center, North Andover, MA    |       Date: Monday, August 14 – Friday, August 18

In this class, students will bring creativity to life in a fun, collaborative and exciting environment. They will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, improvisation and camera skills. Students who have previously participated in our program will be able to expand on their filmmaking skills.
