Film Works
Launched in fall 2002, Film Works was a hands-on video training pilot program for a group of fifteen Cape Verdean teenage boys in the Teen Media Literacy program at the Log School in Dorchester (part of Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses). Over the course of the winter and spring of 2003, Filmmakers from FC, the Color of Film Collaborative, and Boston Neighborhood Network helped the youths learn about filmmaking as they planned shoots, interviewed subjects, including Mayor Menino, and videotaped their lives and told the story of youth violence in the Cape Verdean community.
Funding for Film Works was provided by The Cloud Foundation and the Cahn Fund for Social Change.
