Biography

Michelle is an author, journalist, and filmmaker whose projects have been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Katie Couric’s talk show Katie, The Today Show, Fox TV, PBS’s World Compass; numerous radio shows; and national publications including The Washington Post, Psychology Today, Parenting, MORE, and U.S. World News & Report.

She is the author of the book I Love Mondays (Seal Press, 2012), the co-author of the national bestseller I’m Not Mad, I Just Hate You!: A New Understanding of Mother-Daughter Conflict (Viking, 1999), the filmmaker behind the award-winning documentary, Seeking Happily Ever After, distributed in 2010 by Lionsgate, and the author of Seeking Happily Ever After (Tarcher Penguin, 2010).

Michelle has freelance written for numerous national publications, and was Sr. Editor of Girls’ Life magazine and Mother Earth News. Michelle lectures and leads workshops for girls and women at numerous institutions, and is currently producing a documentary about only children called One and Only. She was a volunteer for two years at Strong Women, Strong Girls as a class monitor and mentor for college students, and blogs regularly for the award-winning Huffington Post Parents.
