Ana’s Time

In distribution

In Ana’s Time, an Asian-American filmmaker decides to direct a film based on a script her domineering, Caucasian step-father wrote, in order to make sense of her abusive past in the isolated environs of rural Texas. Thematic oppositions, based on the step–daughter/step-father relationship, their racial differences, and the locales of Texas and Boston provide the basis for Ana’s story as she struggles with self–assimilation through the process of making the film.

Scenes from her film will be enclosed among scenes from her childhood and documentary style footage of her present self, as she takes on the film project after his death.
