Laura Longsworth
Laura’s most recent film, Luckey, about a brilliant and charismatic inventor who was building an intricate three-story-high work of public art when he was in an accident and became a quadriplegic at the age of 66.
Laura also recently finished producing The People v. Leo Frank with another FC member, Ben Loeterman. Prior to this, Laura worked on documentary films for two of PBS’ highly acclaimed nationally broadcast series, American Experience and FRONTLINE. She served as co-producer on Gold Rush, a two hour film about the moment the world flooded California in pursuit of wealth and Golden Gate Bridge, about one man’s unwavering commitment to building the well known San Francisco bridge.
For FRONTLINE’s public affair series, Laura worked on “Inside the Terror Network,” which was awarded the prestigious duPont-Columbia gold baton. She also served as Associate Producer for “Let’s Get Married,” a verite style documentary about the prospects of marriage among some of America’s poorest citizens.
Prior to entering the work of documentaries, Laura was a newspaper reporter.
