Jessica Jennings
Jessica is a two time Emmy Award winning producer, director, cinematographer and editor based in Providence, Rhode Island. Her work in documentary, commercial and feature films has been broadcast and shown at film festivals around the country and internationally.
Jessica most recently produced and shot Home Across Lands (2009), a documentary about a small group of newly resettled Kunaman refugees who find support and reestablish community in a small New England state. Home Across Lands won national distribution to PBS stations from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA).
Other recent work includes Boy in the World (2007), an educational film Jessica produced and directed about a preschooler with Down syndrome who thrives in his inclusive life at school, in his community and in the world at large. Boy in the World aired on PBS (WSBE) and won multiple awards including a New England Emmy for Photography.
Current work includes directing and producing a film about the efforts of urban communities to save and improve their public schools amidst socioeconomic, cultural and political challenges. Alongside an active commercial career, Jessica manages her company VisionWink Productions with a focus on educational and documentary projects. She received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from the University of Chicago.[sniplet name]
