Jeff Sias
Jeff Sias and Bryan Papciak are working together as co-creators of the American Ruins project, fully writing, shooting and editing the film as a team. They worked together at Boston’s Olive Jar Animation Studios where they created highly original and unusual mixed-media spots for film and television.
Since Olive Jar’s closing in 2001, Jeff and Bryan have continued their creative partnership by forming the mixed-media design and animation company, Handcranked Productions, as well as Handcranked Film Projects – an electic studio of active artists and filmmakers who balance personal artistic endeavors with commercial production. They have developed and built the studio with the intent of incorporating both their commercial and independent projects.
Bryan & Jeff are also two of the four founding members of Handcranked Film Collaborative, a Boston-area art and film collaborative, which was conceived as an informal cooperative whose members share experience and resources in the production of individual and collaborative film-as-art projects.
Jeff and Bryan are active in education as well, teaching animation and experimental film at Rhode Island School of Design.
