Deja Brandeis
Deja Brandeis is an independent writer/director in Nashville, TN. She is currently teaching Video Production and Screenwriting at the Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville, and is a faculty member for Emerson College’s Summer Arts and Communications Academy.
Brandeis has worked on a number of short films in Los Angeles and Boston, and is beginning work on a new film, a short documentary about women in an Orthodox Jewish community in Seattle. She is also working on her third feature-length screenplay.
As an employee of the Maine Jewish Film Festival in Portland, and an intern at the Cannes International Film Festival in France, Brandeis developed a deep interest in film festival programming. She is a volunteer screener at the Nashville Film Festival.
Brandeis has a B.A. in TV, Film, and Media Studies from California State University, Los Angeles, and an M.A. in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College in Boston.
